The Scrub Foundation is being set up in memory of DYLAN SHELTON - artist, illustrator, model, gardener, meditator, yogic mover, foodie, comedic hero and general legend.

The Foundation will support young people in their 20s living with sarcoma and other cancers, taking inspiration from Dylan's story to find ways to live well. It will also raise awareness of sarcoma, often misdiagnosed through ignorance of its existence.​
The Scrub Foundation is for people in their 20s living with sarcoma and other cancers. It takes all its inspiration from Dylan Shelton, aka Sir Scrub, who lived and worked in Bristol, staying there after graduating from UWE in 2019. He was an illustrator, working in hospitality to support his artistic work, building a huge following across the city.

In April 2021, aged 23, Dylan was diagnosed with synovial sarcoma in his right forearm. Not wanting to be defined by this, he went through highs and lows finding ways to live and stay well. This website tells his tale, the things he did to keep the fear, the pain, the stress at bay and how he found physical and mental health, peace, joy, and fun in his life - always holding onto hope. Whilst heartbreakingly Dylan died in April 2024, he lived beautifully, and we hope you can find inspiration from his tale to keep living well, not to despair, to speak up for yourself, to trust your instincts whenever you can.... and always to hope ...​​​
